چکیده

The proposed method consists of three stages. First, we apply a hierarchical block-based technique to detect and eliminate the moving regions from the background, and meantime we estimate the initial guess of the global motion. Next, we employ a hierarchical feature-based technique on the retained background regions to refine and derive the precise global motion. Last, we refine the segmentation results obtained at the first stage and warp all the retained background regions with respect to a reference coordinate system and integrate them into a video mosaic. Many experimental results are shown to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed work.

A PRACTICAL APPROACH TO REAL-TIME DYNAMIC BACKGROUND GENERATION BASED ON A TEMPORAL MEDIAN FILTER

In many computer vision applications, segmenting and extraction of moving objects in video sequences is an essential task. Background subtraction, by which each input image is subtracted from the reference image, has often been used for this purpose. In this paper, we offer a novel background-subtraction technique for real-time dynamic background generation using color images that are taken fro...

Dynamic Video Mosaicing and Augmented Reality for Subsea Inspection and Monitoring

This paper reports a powerful technique for building panoramic mosaics from video sequences automatically. No information about the camera motion nor on its optical parameters are necessary. Mosaics can be built even in the presence of objects moving in front of the target scene (dynamic mosaicing), which are deleted by motion analysis. The technique also makes augmented reality possible, that ...

Content-based Image Sequence Representation

In this chapter we overview methods that represent video sequences in terms of their content. These methods differ from those developed for MPEG/H.26X coding standards in that sequences are described in terms of extended images instead of collections of frames. We describe how these extended images, e.g., mosaics, are generated by the basically same principle: the incremental composition of vis...

Content-Based 3D Mosaics for Dynamic Urban Scenes

We propose a content-based 3D mosaic (CB3M) representation for long video sequences of 3D and dynamic scenes captured by a camera on a mobile platform. The motion of the camera has a dominant direction of motion (as on an airplane or ground vehicle), but 6 DOF motion is allowed. In the first step, a set of parallel-perspective (pushbroom) mosaics with varying viewing directions is generated to ...

Content-Based 3D Mosaics for Large-Scale Dynamic Urban Scenes

We propose a content-based 3D mosaic (CB3M) representation for long video sequences of 3D and dynamic urban scenes captured by a camera on a mobile platform. In the second phase, a segmentation-based...
